Dealing with the documentation
Its likely you signed ‘terms of business’ with your current agent, this should confirm:
- How much notice you may be required to give – if any.
- Whether you are tied in to a minimum initial period.
- Whether a fee is due for ending the agreement and what that fee is.
Giving notice
If you decide to switch your property to Northwood Stoke you will need to:
- Give notice to end your current arrangement
- Confirm your instruction to us
- Sign our terms of contract
- Sit back and let us take care of the rest
The handover
Step 1: If you are selling a house, we will arrange pick up of keys, get your property listed and wait for interested buyers to call and view your property, all the way through to exchange.
If you are letting a property, we will contact your current agent and arrange a detailed handover on an agreed date.
Step 2: We will introduce ourselves to your tenant, provide them with our contact details, obtain keys and prepare the relevant documentation for the day of the handover.
Step 3: We will make sure that the tenancy deposit is re-registered under our membership for protection.
Step 4: We will arrange a property inspection with your tenant once the handover is complete. This will give us an opportunity to meet with your tenant to discuss any concerns.
Step 5: We will finalise and issue you and your tenant with your new Northwood documentation.
Your thank you gift
Once the above steps have been taken, we will then process your £250 thank you gift!
*If you then decide to swap again and place your property elsewhere within the first 12 months of switching to Northwood, all we ask is that you reimburse us with a repayment of £120 to contribute towards our administrative costs. This is only applicable for the guaranteed rent or Fully managed Service.
