More About the Hatfield Area

Hatfield is a thriving small town and civil parish located on the outskirts of Doncaster. Linked via the A18 to Hatfield is the historic market town of Thorne and to the west of the M180 and M18 motorways only a stones throw away providing easy access to Doncaster, Scunthorpe and other large cities. Hatfield has all the local amenities you need including several public houses, independent local shops, eateries, post office and small supermarkets.

The historical St Lawrence church is at the centre of the village and has regular community events and activities, Hatfield also has a large outdoor water activity centre to the North east of the town for both trips and day visits with plenty of regular sporting activities.

The Hatfield – Stainforth railway station provides easy access into Doncaster and Goole, along with all major public bus routes being available throughout the area and two further train stations in Thorne nearby.

The main secondary school is Ash Hill Academy and there are two primary schools: St Lawrence COE and Hatfield Crookesbroom Primary.

Surrounding Hatfield are the villages of Hatfield Woodhouse, Dunsville, Dunscroft and Staniforth.

Investment is being ploughed into the area with a major development known as the Unity Park to the west of Junction 5 of the M18 nearby which should see job opportunities, a new school, marina and further housing.
