Falkirk

Falkirk, home to the world-famous Falkirk Wheel and the Kelpies is a major county town located roughly halfway between Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The town’s three mainline train stations provide regular services directly to Glasgow, Edinburg, London and Striling.

Falkirk is fast establishing itself as a major sporting centre with two large stadia in the Grangemouth area, a vast network of walking and cycling trails, gyms and swimming pools.

The Town Centre shopping precinct contains a wide range of household retail outlets and restaurants.

The Forth and Clyde Canal and the Union Canal provide for a variety of activities including kayaking, sailing, fishing, cycling and walking.

Larbert is a popular town, very convenient for Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling and Falkirk. The train station and the network of bus routes as well as the proximity to the Central Scotland Motorway network make Larbert a must for commuters.

Nearby Stenhousemuir is a bustling residential village with its own high school and a variety of bars and restaurants.

Bo’ness has an interesting Town Centre which is home to a range of private retail businesses. The Bo’ness to Kinneil tourist Railway and the Hippodrome Cinema, a perfectly preserved early 20th century operating cinema are fascinating reasons for visiting Bo’ness.

Camelon is an energetic area to the west of Falkirk. Camelon has its own mainline train station and is particularly convenient for the motorway network.

The Mariner Centre with its lagoon pool and a range of activities is one of the social hubs in Camelon.

Denny is a popular town in Stirlingshire. Denny Town Centre has recently had a major revamp with new shop units, library etc being created. Perfectly placed for the motorway network.

Airth, a small, pretty village beside the River Forth is conveniently situated for the commuter and for the Kincardine and Clackmannan bridges.

Kincardine is a beautiful Fife village situated on the banks of the Forth. Accessed by the Kincardine bridge, a masterpiece of 1930’s engineering. Visitors to Kincardine are enriched by the variety of unique and characterful buildings throughout the village.

Avonbridge, Bonnybridge, Shieldhill and Greengairs are among the small villages that nestle in picturesque countryside around Falkirk.
