Things to-do with Kids in Aberdeen Summer 2022

With the Scottish School Summer holidays 2 weeks in already, it’s little doubt parents will be frantically searching for exciting activities to keep filling the calendar. Here at Northwood Aberdeen, we have compiled a list of our favourite activities and events to schedule with children this Summer 2022 in Aberdeen and the Shire.

Dolphin Spotting

Consistently known and recorded as the UK’s best place to spot Bottlenose dolphins from land in the UK, Torry Battery, Aberdeen, is home to newly opened, charitable organisation Greyhope Bay.

Greyhope Bay is an an “off-grid” eco-facility built by converting shipping containers. Pop along for a sweet treat at Liberty Kitchen Café at Greyhope Bay Centre and do a spot of dolphin watching.

Karting

Codonas has always been top of the list for a fun-packed family day out in Aberdeen. Just last year they introduced their new 2-storey karting track with both single and double karts meaning the family can get together for some competitive excitement. Codona’s, Aberdeen has plenty to fill a whole day out with bowling, mini-golf, amusement park, indoor and outdoor adventure play and laser tag!

Learn to climb

Transition Extreme Aberdeen are offering a Climb & Dine Package during the summer months. This allows kids of varying abilities to progress their climbing skills and meet new friends. And us Mums and Dads? Well, we get a couple of hours peace!

Circus Extreme

Circus Extreme is back to Aberdeen this July 2022 as part of it’s World Tour. Take the whole family along to see some of the World’s top circus performers in their display of extreme stunts under the climate- controlled circus big-top. Macduff Aquarium

Aberdeen Science Centre

Keep their holiday brains working hard with a trip to the Aberdeen Science Centre. Gradually work through over 60 new interactive exhibits in the various themed zones. Don’t forget to check out the daily programme of interactive shows, workshops and demonstrations, suitable for all ages and included in the ticket prices.

Stonehaven

Oh, to be beside the seaside! Stonehaven has so much to offer from the large play park, the beachfront walks, the harbour, the open air swimming pool and the gorgeous scenery. The Den & The Glen

A true childhood favourite that has been around for decades. Visit the magical park of make believe, with 28 acres of beautiful Royal Deeside scenery and featuring models of your favourite nursery rhyme and fairy-tale characters you can really feed your kids imaginations.

Easter Anguston Farm

Easter Anguston Farm is an operational farm in Peterculter, which serves as a training facility for adults with learning difficulties and other additional support needs.

The facility offers strawberry picking, play park and activity stations, a café, a garden centre and a selection of animals.
