Award-winning estate and lettings agency Northwood North East continues to strengthen its team with the appointment of five new members of staff.
Set up in 2009 by Laura Mearns and her husband Steven, Northwood is an established presence in Aberdeen’s Rosemount, Inverurie High Street and more recently in Banchory, where it opened its office on the High Street last September.
The new recruits – Leigh Reid, Nicole Leivers-Coletta, Debbie Sharp, Carly Fenton and Alison Ramsay – bring the total number in its team to 17.
Administrative Assistant Leigh Reid previously worked in business development and sales in the recruitment sector for more than 15 years. In her new role, she is responsible for helping with the accounts, training and compliance, looking after the contractors and scheduling inspections.
Originally form Aboyne and now based in Alford, Nicole Leivers-Coletta is currently training to be a Property Manager and will be working alternately between Northwood’s Inverurie and Banchory offices, bringing her local knowledge to the role. Formerly a manager in the retail industry and a receptionist, she has recently returned to work after maternity leave.
Property Inspector/Viewing Agent Debbie Sharp has a background in retail management and was self-employed before taking up the post at Northwood, where she is the first point of contact for many of Northwood’s clients.
Meanwhile Carly Fenton and Alison Ramsay are job-sharing the role of Comms and Marketing Officer. Carly, who graduated from The Robert Gordon University with a degree in Design for Digital Media, was formerly part of the in-house graphics team at Shell for 17 years. In 2023, she joined Grampian Wedding Directory, as the magazine’s Graphic Designer. She also works for Business Network Scotland.
With a background of more than 30 years in journalism and PR, Alison set up PR and Comms consultancy Mhor Media in 2017 after working for a leading Scotland-wide PR agency for five years. Along with Carly, she will be responsible for all the marketing and PR for Northwood.
Owner and Director Laura and Operations Director Matt Pullinger, who has been with the company since it launched 15 years ago, welcomed the new starts to the company.
“Last year was our 15th anniversary in business and it was an extraordinary year of new growth, as well as celebration. We launched our third office in the Aberdeenshire town of Banchory and continued to grow our property portfolios, all of which necessitated the need to bolster the team.
“Each of the new starts brings with them a huge amount of potential and expertise and we’re all delighted to welcome them into the fold. This year promises to be just as exciting as last year for Northwood as we continue our upward trajectory.”
Northwood prides itself on being a family-focused, independently run business at the heart of their communities across the North-east. The past 15 years have seen Northwood acquire a rapidly expanding portfolio of properties on its books, with an annual turnover of more than £1million.
