It has been a busy start to the year for Northwood’s Property Sales team as the sale of both flats and houses continues to rise across the North-east. Sales Property Manager Ali Clark offers an insight to what has been happening in the city over the past three months.
“We have had an encouraging start to the year with growing levels of activity and increasing prices achieved for both flats and houses. Prices are up 3.2% in the last 12 months, with the average price of a home in the city currently sitting at £142,412. This is, however, still considerably below the Scotland average of £185,870.
“Flats in Aberdeen city centre are performing well, with first time buyers driving a large proportion of the sales market due to steady mortgage rates. Some of those we have sold this year have achieved above valuation too, which is fantastic to see considering the high saturation levels and competition in the current market.
“Those flats in modern and ready-to-move-in condition are the most sought after, while those requiring updating are priced appropriately to achieve a sale.”
