Estate Agent/Valuer Lynn and Trainee Estate Agent Lisa started working for Northwood on the same day in 2024. As they celebrate their first anniversary, they share their thoughts on what life has been like since joining the award-winning sales team.
Before joining Northwood, Lynn was a chartered surveyor, turned estate agent who worked for several companies in and around Aberdeen.
“Property runs through my veins and has done for the last 30 years,” said Lynn.
“After leaving my last position, I heard Laura on the radio one day as I was driving down Rosemount and thought, ‘she sounds nice, I’d like to work at Northwood’. So, I fired off an email to Matt, he sent it to Laura, and she replied almost instantly. The rest is history!”
Lynn’s typical day involves carrying out valuations and preparing properties for market, taking clients through the full agency process until an offer is received.
“I love getting out and about meeting people, seeing properties and hearing people’s life stories – it’s so interesting,” she said.
“No two clients have the same experiences or reason for selling, so every day is different, and this makes for a varied and, at times, entertaining working life.
“Working at Northwood has been a breath of fresh air. Everyone is welcoming, supportive and helpful and, best of all, good fun. The working environment is approachable and open, and the directors have time for everyone no matter how small or silly the query. They are generous and caring and treat their staff impeccably.”
Before joining Northwood, Lisa worked for a kitchen and bathroom company as a Contracts Administrator. Before that, she was a manager in the retail industry.
Lisa said: “My job is a great mixture of office-based tasks as well as being out and about conducting home viewings to lots of house hunters. Before joining Northwood, I had no experience of the property sales industry, and I am excited to be learning on the job from the experience from Laura, Ali and Lynn.
“I love working at Northwood and in just one year I have learned so much. I am grateful for the opportunity and very glad to have been given the opportunity of a career for the future.
“Northwood is fast-paced, and every day is different! We are a small team, working together to deliver excellent customer service, but also there to help each other along the way.”
