Northwood Owner and Director Laura Mearns and financial adviser and co-owner of Structured Financial Planning Neil Stewart welcomed 16 attendees to a ‘hugely successful’ joint event in Banchory.
Open to all, the open evening was held at Banchory’s Scott Skinners Bar and Restaurant.
Laura’s presentation offered an insight into the current property market, the pros and cons of investing in property, as well as discussing ways of de-risking your investment.
Neil, meanwhile, discussed the benefits of pensions with an emphasis on the importance of having a clear, goal-focussed plan for all types of investments which will help you achieve your desired lifestyle in retirement.
With offices already in Rosemount and Inverurie, Northwood opened its third branch on Banchory High Street last August. Laura, who lives in Aboyne, said there was great interest in both topics discussed.
“When Neil and I first met at a local networking event about nine months ago, it became apparent that we both have a passion to help build stronger links throughout Banchory’s business community, as well as within the wider local community,” she said.
“It was a fantastic, very engaging evening with lots of questions asked. It was obvious that there is an appetite for these types of information sessions and we’re hopeful that this will be the first of many going forward in Banchory.”
Neil, who lives and works in Banchory, said: “This was our first joint event, and it went very well – it was a privilege to speak to a room of local people who were clearly engaged in the topics in hand.
“Laura and I share an interest in helping to promote and build up the many great businesses in Royal Deeside, as well as offering excellent service to the people in the area and we hope that we can continue to deliver high quality, informative events. Roll on the next one!”
